Alaeddin Boroujerdi, head of the Iranian parliament commission for national security and foreign policy, invited an Italian parliamentary delegation to visit Tehran on May 3, Trend reports.
Hossein Sheikh-ul-Islam, an advisor of the Iranian speaker of parliament for international affairs, said that the delegation of 10 Italian lawmakers will be headed by Pier Ferdinando Casini, head of the Italian Senate committee for foreign affairs.
The delegation will visit Iran to study the potential for expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic. They will spend the three days meeting high-ranking Iranian officials.
Another delegation of Casini concluded a visit to Iran in early January.
