Iran develops improved analogue of Russia’s S-300

General Mohammad Hejazi, deputy head of Staff of the Iranian Army, said that an improved analogue of the Russian S-300 missile system had been developed in Iran, according to the order of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trend reports.

Iran signed a contract to purchase S-300 complexes from Russia in late 2007. Russia cancelled the deal in 2010 over sanctions of the UNSC against Iran, banning such exports. Iran filed a lawsuit against Rosoboronexport worth $4 billion to the International Court of Arbitration in Geneva.
