Russia may launch its own Internet

Russia should launch its own computer network instead of using the World Wide Web, Russian Senator Maksim Kavdzharadze believes. According to him, such a network should be available to users in Russia and the CSTO member states only, so that Western intelligence agencies cannot intercept the processed data.

The statement was made after the United States announced a new round of sanctions against Russia, imposed in response to Russia's violation of the Geneva agreement on Ukraine.
