Russian President Vladimir Putin said after a session of the Supreme Eurasian Council that the treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union will be signed on May 29, ITAR-TASS reports.
He noted that U.S. sanctions will not affect the integration process of Eurasia. The president expressed confidence that the treaty would intensify cooperation of the countries signing it. Putin added that the treaty will make the market of 170 million people more attractive and substantial.
Victor Khristenko, chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said yesterday that all the main differences over the treaty were settled and only bilateral issues remained. He added that the project on Armenia’s joining the integration mechanism may be presented by June 1.
