The Russian Caspian Flotilla has started naval drills in the Caspian Sea under command of Commander of the Caspian Flotilla Vice Admiral Sergey Alekminsky, News Azerbaijan reports.
About 20 ships, including the Dagestan and Tatarstan missile ships, Grad Sviyazhsk and Uglich small missile ships, Volgodonsk and Makhachkala small artillery ships. They will train attacks on naval, coastal and air targets.
Two groups of ships left their bases in Makhachkala and Astrakhan. They will train in an area of over 2500km. The drills will continue until May 8.
