The speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Cemil Cicek, has announced his resignation and does not plan to take part in the 2015 parliamentary polls, News Azerbaijan reports.
Cicek has been an active politician since 1984. He became the speaker of parliament in 2011. He is a co-founder of the ANAP Party.
Over 70 members of the ruling Justice and Development Party cannot take part in the parliamentary polls of 2015 because members of the party cannot be re-elected for a third term, according to the charter of the party.
