Ukraine's decision will not affect NATO-Georgian relations

The head of the NATO mission to Georgia, Karl Lemers, considers that
the decision of Ukrainian president Yanukovich will not affect
NATO-Georgian relations. Karl Lemers claimed the abolishing of the
commission, which had been created to move NATO-Ukrainian relations to
a new level, was unexpected, however, "all countries make their own
choices". According to Lemers "the alliance still supports the
decisions of the Bucharest summit", reports Georgia Online.

"I am surprised, since NATO hasn't changed its position and we welcome
new members. It is the Ukrainian president and people who should
choose the foreign policy of the country. Each candidate-state has its
own way to go. So has Georgia and is doing well following the annual
plan. I don't think that the Ukrainian decision has somehow affected
relations between NATO and Georgia", the Vice President of the NATO
Parliamentary Assembly pointed out.
