According to recently-published polls, Georgia's Defense Minister Irakli Alasania is the country's most popular politician. Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the results of the polls with Georgian experts Alexander Rondeli and Petre Mamradze.
Alexander Rondeli believes that the reason why Alasania is so popular is the fact that he is an experienced politican, a good public speaker and that he looks good on TV, which is very important for the Georgian audience.
According to Mamradze, the polls itself could have been politicized and biased. Similar polls held by the same bodies showed that Bidzina Ivanishvili was unpopular right before his party won the parliamentary elections, the expert stresses.
That is why no one actually trusts them, he explains.
