Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed his Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District and replaced him with Sergey Melikov, commander of the joint group of the Internal Forces in the North Caucasus, RIA Novosti reports.
Khloponin keeps his post as a vice prime minister.
