Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will promote his deputy Alexander Khloponin to minister for development of the North Caucasus, ITAR-TASS reports.
At a meeting with the head of the Ministry for Development of the North Caucasus, Lev Kuznetsov, Medvedev reminded that the new appointment had been discussed last week. The PM emphasized that the solution to regional problems was in socio-economic development, based on the state programs and budget.
The prime minister added that it was the third territorial ministry created lately. It is similar to the Ministry for the Far East and the Ministry for Crimea.
