Miroslav Rudenko, a co-chair of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic”, said today that the “republic” did not need international recognition. He reminded that only 6 countries had recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia and 100 recognized Kosovo. Rudenko said that the U.S. was dictating to the world which countries to recognize as independent, RIA Novosti reports.
The activist considers talks about joining Russia premature. In his view, it is more important to legitimize the breakaway territory.
