Ingush Parliamentary Speaker Mahmoud Sakalov believes that a bill on
changing the term 'the president of the republic' to 'the head of
Ingushetia' will have been passed by October. Parliamentary deputies
of Ingushetia have approved the law in the first reading, RIA Novosti
reports.
The law will come into force on January 1, 2011.
The request to change the term was initiated by Chechen President
Ramzan Kadyrov. He said that Russia should have one president. Heads
of other republics, including Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov,
support the idea.
According to the press-service of Ingush president, he had said that
there should be only one president in Russia. Kadyrov became the 'head
of the republic' on September 2.
