U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, commenting on appointment of German diplomat Wolfgang Ischinger to co-chair round-table conferences, said that such conferences assisted by the OSCE will focus on decentralization and constitutional reforms in Ukraine, ITAR-TASS reports.
Kerry noted that the U.S. was always in touch with the OSCE, German and Russian Foreign Ministers Steinmeier and Lavrov. In his words, the United States expected the OSCE to help de-escalate the situation and start a dialogue.
The secretary of state emphasized that the Ukrainian presidential polls will be a real opportunity for the population to express its will.
