The population of Baku has exceeded the norm, said Abbas Aleskerov, head of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, today, abc.az reports.
The State Committee recommends reduction of the population in the Nasimi, Narimanov, Nizami and Yasamal districts, and the center of the city. Housing construction in the said districts will be restricted and the area beautified according to the Greater Baku Regional Development Plan. The latter is undergoing final public hearings today.
