"Renaming the Russian militia to the police will cost several hundred million rubles, but this sum will not cause any problems to police funding," the deputy Interior minister Sergei Bulavin said, reports Interfax.
According to him, police officers will have their old certificates and writing on the cars for at least one more year.
"This is not the point. The point is that a policeman has to act like a policeman as it is written in law, the change of writing is a technical matter," he said.
