The second round table for national unity held in the Eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv has produced no results. The first discussion was held in the country's capital, Kyiv, on Wednesday. The initiative has been welcomed by foreign diplomats.
In the framework of the first discussion the parties agreed to submit the Peace and Harmony Memorandum to the Ukrainian Parliament, according to which the Ukrainian Constitution should be amended so that it provides the country's regions with more powers.
The initiative was welcomed by Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
However the tensions in Eastern Ukraine remain acute as the rebels insist on the necessity of recognition of the independence of the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk.
