A new mining law will be presented to the Turkish parliament in the next couple of months, Trend reports.
The bill was initiated by the Turkish Ministry for Energy and Natural Resources and the Labour Ministry after the tragedy at a mine in Soma (Manisa Province) where 301 people died and 486 were injured.
The Turkish police have detained 25 people, including the chairman of the board of Soma Holding, the company that runs the mine. Five officials of the company have been charged today.
Soma Holding will pay relatives of the deceased 350 million liras.
