Zbigniew Brzezinski, a notable U.S. political expert, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s ex-National Security Advisor, has proposed secret negotiations with Russia, similar to the ones signed for Finland and Austria, ITAR-TASS reports.
Brzezinski noted that Ukraine could be viewed as a European country without joining NATO in the future. In his words, Ukraine could preserve economic ties with the Eurasian Union.
Commenting on the chances of Ukraine joining NATO, the political expert reminded that the majority of the population was positive about becoming a member of the Alliance. However, he noted, Russia would view it as a strategic challenge.
