Iran urges world to get rid of weapons of mass destruction

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has urged attendants of the 4th CICA summit in Astana to abolish weapons of mass destruction and enforce global peace and security, Trend reports.

The president urged members of the UN General Assembly to strengthen the role of Asia in keeping peace. Rouhani spoke out against nuclear weapons and encouraged use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes.

The Iranian president noted that improvement of economic ties and rise of joint investments of CICA states were some of the most efficient ways to promote regional cooperation in the world economy.
