Georgia should be ready to face consequences of associate membership in EU, Russia says

Georgia should understand the possible consequences of signing the association agreement with the European Union, Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Alexander Lukashevich says.

Lukashevich stressed that Russia respects Georgia's right to sign any kind of agreement, but warns the country that association membership in the EU would affect Russian-Georgian bilateral ties.

Georgia and the EU are set to sign the association agreement on June 27th 2014 in Brussels.
