Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2014, President of Russia Vladimir Putin commented on the situation in Ukraine. According to him, after the overthrow in the country, chaos and civil war began there.
Putin stressed that, in such a situation, the merging of Crimea with Russia saved a lot of lives. The Russian president asked businessmen to consider this independently and assess the situation objectively.
As for consultations on possible association between Russia and the EU, according to Putin the EU offers only slogans and no specific proposals.
