Public Chamber of the Russian Federation does not recognize the legitimacy of the elections in Ukraine

The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation refuses to recognize the legitimacy of the presidential elections in Ukraine.

"The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation does not recognize the presidential elections in Ukraine as legitimate. This process cannot be characterized as something other than a feast in time of plague or as a farce during the Civil War," ITAR-TASS quotes Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber Vladislav Grib.

In this regard, members of Public Chamber called on all international, governmental and non-governmental organizations not to recognize these elections and provide comprehensive assistance to the people of Ukraine, "suffering from the actions of the junta."

"I believe that today the theme of human rights protection in Ukraine should be a key priority in the relevant association. On my behalf I promise that the Coordination Headquarters of the Public Chamber of Russia on assistance to people of Ukraine will work as long as the neighboring country is not in a normal situation and cannot independently ensure law and the absence of arbitrariness against people," Grib says.
