Qadri Jamil, the head of the Popular Front for Change and Liberation, said that the Syrian opposition proposes postponing the presidential polls because the majority of the population could not take part in the voting process, ITAR-TASS reports.
The Front had a meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry yesterday. The presidential polls were one of the topics discussed at the ministry.
Jamil said that the Syrian opposition will continue negotiations at the Russian ministry tomorrow. The opposition delegation will discuss negotiations in Geneva and formation of a delegation for the talks.
Syria will hold presidential polls on June 3. The voting process for Syrians abroad will start on June 28.
