Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that one of the goals of the operation in the south-east was to capture the leaders of the resistance and put them on trial, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to Poroshenko, the operation has finally begun.
Denis Pushilin, head of the presidium of the Supreme Council of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic,” said that 100 people had been killed in the latest phase of the operation initiated on Monday. 20-50 of them were civilians.
