Kazakhstan wants to become financial center of Eurasian Union

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council that Almaty should be the financial center of the Eurasian Economic Union, ITAR-TASS reports.

He reminded that Almaty will headquarter the supranational structure for regulation of financial markets of the Eurasian Union. The Eurasian Economic Commission will have headquarters in Moscow and the Eurasian Court in Minsk.

Nazarbayev noted that the Eurasian Economic Union was formed to improve prosperity, quality of life. He added that it was based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and respect of interests of all sides. According to the Kazakh leader, the total GDP of the three signees of the Eurasian Treaty will have increased by about $900 billion by 2030.
