Azerbaijan postpones talks on Karabakh resolution at UN General Assembly

Azerbaijan has requested postponing talks on the resolution project
A/64/L.57 on international human rights and international law on the
occupied territories of Azerbaijan, originally scheduled for the 64th
session, and the 18th clause on the situation on the occupied
territories of Azerbaijan to be switched to the 65th session, the
Azerbaijani chairman at the UN General Assembly Agshin Mekhtiyev said,
Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


The Armenian side did not express its view on the issue. According to
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision was based on the view of
the co-chairs of the OSCE's Minsk Group, who will visit the region and
study the facts in September – early October.


It will be the first mission since a similar OSCE mission in 2005.
The international mission will consist of an expert group and
high-ranking consultants, including the chairman of the High
Commission for Refugees and other structures of the UN.
