Russian and Kazakh Presidents Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev have signed a memorandum of understanding of Rosatom and Kazatomprom at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to cooperate in construction of a nuclear power plant in Kurchatov. The power plant will have an output of 300-1,200MW, RIA Novosti reports.
Rosatom and Kazatomprom signed a program for development of cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy, Rosbalt reports.
The sides discussed a road map for realization of measures to regulate use of resources at the Harasan-1, Akdala and Yuzhny Nikay fields. The document defines the terms and responsibilities of the sides. A supplement to the agreement will have been formed by October 28, 2014.
