Lawsuit to be brought against Saakashvili over ‘invasion’ report

Opposition movement Protect Georgia leader Livan Gacheliladze intends
to bring a lawsuit against Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili over
false information spread by the TV channel Imedi regarding an
“invasion by Russian armed forces.” The report provoked panic
throughout Georgia.

The channel said the program was a warning of what could happen if
Georgia did not come together against the “Russian threat.” However,
many people missed the introduction and believed it to be a true
account of events.

"The details of the case will be announced later,” a Protect Georgia
spokesman said, as cited by RIA Novosti.
