British Queen Elizabeth II has not made any official comments on the abdication of Spanish King Juan Carlos I, only saying that such actions would be untraditional for the UK, ITAR-TASS reports.
The queen is returning from Windsor Castle to London and preparing for a speech to parliament on Wednesday. Notably, the abdication of Juan Carlos I coincided with the 61st anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.
Prince Felipe of Asturias will be the successor to Juan Carlos I.
