Golden Age in relations between Ankara and Ashgabat

Among the documents signed were a Memorandum of Understanding between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the Organization for the support of small and medium-sized enterprises of Turkey; a Protocol on Cooperation between the Turkmen Academy of Sciences and the Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Turkey, as well as several other documents. Abdullah Gul and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the dynamic pace of development of bilateral relations between the countries in various fields, particularly in energy and trade. The Turkish president has called it a "golden age" in relations with Turkmenistan.

 

Turkish expert Hasan Selim Ozertem told Vestnik Kavkaza that he believes that relations between the countries are indeed reaching a momentum, however in his opinion they have not yet brought the desired results.He noted that Turkey's dialogue with the countries of Central Asia is of great importance, and in this regard Turkmenistan, along with Kazakhstan, is one of the most important partners of Turkey in the region.A Turkish political analyst, Kamer Kasim, said that Turkey and Turkmenistan are fraternal countries and that relations between them have been developing from the first days of independence of Turkmenistan.

 

Today in Ankara a package of intergovernmental agreements was signed during the official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Turkey.
