Israel starts second round of presidential polls

The Israeli parliament has started the second round of voting to elect Reuven Rivlin (speaker of the Knesset, Likud Party) or Meir Sheetrit ( former finance, interior and justice minister) as president.


Rivlin got 44 votes in the first round, Sheetrit got 31. The winner needs a majority of the votes cast to win in the second round.
