Mass riots in Bishkek

Disturbances are continuing in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, reports rosbalt.ru.

Police have fired tear gas into crowds of opposition supporters in an unsuccessful bid to disperse protestors.

Media reports say two people have been killed and 100 injured in the disturbances, which began on April 6.

The protestors are calling for widespread reforms, including the scrapping of gas and electricity price rises.
