The new nuclear doctrine of the U.S., not precluding a nuclear strike on Iran, may lead to “tough response” of the Islamic republic, said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, RIA Novosti reports ,referring to the news agency France Presse.
Head of Pentagon Robert Gates, who represented the doctrine yesterday, not guarantee that Iran and North Korea are out of danger of nuclear attack, because these states keep to the principles of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. President Obama, noticed that despite the lowering of role of nuclear weapons in defense of the country, Iran and North Korea can not feel safe.
"I hope that these public comments are false... he (Obama) has threatened application of nuclear and chemical weapons to the countries which didn’t submit to the avidity of the United States," reports the agency, quoting Ahmadinejad's speech.
"Be careful. If you follow in footsteps of Mr. Bush Jr., these countries will give the same tough response as they gave to Mr.Bush," the Iranian president warned, without defining exactly which events he meant.
