Azerbaijan and EU sign preliminary cooperation agreement

Azerbaijan and the European Union have signed a Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement on a framework agreement on the general principles of the participation of the Azerbaijan Republic in EU programmes, the APA agency reports.

 

The document was signed by the head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan, Malena Mard, Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dimitrios Tsoungas on behalf of Greece, which is currently chairing the Council of the European Union, and the head of the Azerbaijani Mission to the EU, Fuad Isgandarov, after the expanded meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.
