The situation in the Middle East is already out of control, President of the Middle East Institute Yevgeny Satanovsky told Vestnik Kavkaza in an interview.
In such a way the expert commented on the recent developments in Iraq, where the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant extremist group captures one city after another.
According to Satanovsky, Iraq has failed as a state and is breaking up into several separate countries. "Iraq is going to collapse as a united state with 100 percent probability. This process has already started," he says.
The question is how this crisis will affect the neighbouring countries - Turkey and Iran. According to the expert, Turkey will have a chance to stand aside, while
Iran will be forced to struggle against Sunni extremists in Iraq and support the al-Maliki government.
In fact that's what the Islamic Republic is doing right now, the expert says.
