The Defense Minister of Abkhazia, Mirab Kishmariya, will run for president, Interfax reports.
Early presidential elections will be held in Abkhazia on August 24 in connection with the resignation of Alexander Ankvab. The speaker of the National Assembly, Valery Bganba, will perform the duties of president before the elections.
