Citizens of CIS countries will need international passports to visit Russia

Citizens of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will require international passports to travel to Russia. The corresponding decision made by the Russian government is set to come into effect on January 1st, 2015, Russia's Foreign Ministry says in a statement.


The only exception is going to be made for citizens of the Customs Union's member-states, i.e. Belarus and Kazakhstan.
