UN chief wants support to sides in Syrian conflict to stop

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that foreign states should stop supporting the sides in the Syrian conflict, RIA Novosti reports.

The UN head noted that the world should prevent any support for the Al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

U.S. President Barack Obama said in late May that America will grant funds to the Syrian opposition. Yesterday he asked Congress to grant $500 million for equipment and instructions to the Syrian opposition.
