Punitive measures alone cannot eradicate corruption – Turkish prosecutor general

 

Turkish Prosecutor General Hasan Erbil said at an international conference on international standards and national experience in fighting corruption hosted by Baku that Turkey had two types of corruption: small bribes citizens were giving to officials and systemized high-scale corruption, Trend reports.Erbil informed attendees of the conference about measures Turkey was taking to fight corruption. The prosecutor general is confident that the public should play a greater role in the process and should be well-informed.The official noted that punitive measures alone could not eradicate the problem. He associated corruption with unemployment, low education and social problems.
