Kazakhstan implements cooperation agreement with Caspian states

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a law on ratification of the agreement on cooperation in the security of the Caspian states, News Kazakhstan reports.

Kazakhstan and the Caspian states cooperate in fighting terrorism, organized crime, trafficking of ammunition, explosives, toxic materials, military equipment, drugs, psychotropic materials and precursors, humans, money-laundering, smuggling, piracy, illegal migration and illegal extraction of resources. The sides will secure maritime transportation and exchange information.

The agreement was signed by Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia and Turkmenistan on November 18, 2010.
