Four Georgian regional TV channels will broadcast 15-minute news round-ups for national minorities as of today, reports Trend News.
The project, initiated by the Public Broadcaster, involves such companies as the Marneuli - Marneuli TV channel broadcasting news in Azerbaijani , Akhalkalaki - TV 12 in Armenian, the Zugdidi -Odishichannel in Abkhaz, and the Gori - Trialeti channel in Ossetian.
The regional broadcasting companies signed a one-year contract with the Public Broadcaster. The information service of the First Channel will prepare the news digests. Under the contract, reports from regional journalists will be broadcast by the Public Broadcaster.
According to Joni Nanetashvili, Trialeti channel director, the channel will also broadcast to Tskhinvali. The Odishi channels broadcasting area includes the territory of Ossetia.
