Russian-U.S. differences will not affect Iranian nuclear talks

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that differences between Russia and the U.S. over Ukraine will not derail the talks on Iran's nuclear program. In his words, the U.S., EU and China understand that an agreement with Iran would benefit all countries, RIA Novosti reports.

Ryabkov believes that Iran and the Group of Six have chances to reach an agreement on the nuclear program before July 20. The deputy minister noted that the new round of talks started on July 2 and the round preceding it were accumulating momentum that should now be put into practice. According to Ryabkov, fears of delegates that they would fail to reach an agreement proves their efforts to find a consensus.

The diplomat reminded that Russia had not reached an agreement on the missile shield with the U.S. He called U.S. sanctions against Russia offensive actions.
