U.S. Col. Steve Warren said that the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons on Cape Ray had started in the Mediterranean Sea. The process will take about 60 days and will vary depending on the weather.

The chemical weapons were moved from Denmark’s Ark Futura to Cape Ray at Italy’s Port Gioia Tauro in the Tyrrhenian Sea on July 2.
