WWII memorial to be built in Sevastopol

Deputy Defense Minister Army General Dmitry Bulgakov said that the ministry will build the Panteon Memorial Complex in Sevastopol to honour soldiers killed in the Great Patriotic War and local wars. Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoygu ordered construction of the memorial, ITAR-TASS reports.

Sevastopol guerillas preferred to build a memorial near the cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Dergachi, where defenders of Sevastopol, 17 Heroes of the Soviet Union, young guerillas, commanders and veterans of the Great Patriotic War had been buried.

The deputy minister added that German burial sites will not be left without care either.
