The Kyrgyz opposition demands that the authorities step down, said Omurbek Tekebaev, one of the opposition leaders. The opposition made the demand during negotiations with Prime Minister Dniyar Usenov.
"We take responsibility for what is happening in the country", said Tekebaev,"in the near future a public militia will be established to secure public safety." He also mentioned that Rosa Otunbaeva will head the executive committee.
Tekebaev added that several thousands of people had headed for the pretrial detention center, in which Ismail Isakov, the former Defense Minister condemned to 8 years of imprisonment, was being detained, in order to free him. "If we succeed and free Isakov, the army will take our side," - said Tekebaev, reports ITAR-TASS.
