Georgia is paying its last respects to ex-President Eduard Shevardnadze, who died at the Krtsanis Residence at the age of 86. A requiem will continue for four days, RIA Novosti reports.
The requiem will take place at the Krtsanis Residence on July 9-10, St. Trinity Cathedral on July 11-12 at 6.00pm. Mourning will start at the cathedral at 2.00pm. He will be carried from the cathedral at 3.00pm.
The government is paying all the funeral expenses. Georgian President Georgy Margvelashvili emphasized that Shevardnadze’s relatives will decide where to bury him.
