Damascus fulfilled all obligations on chemical weapons, says Russia

The last batch of Syrian chemical weapons left the country on June 23 to be destroyed on the American ship Cape Ray within about 60 days. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said that it put an end to Syria's chemical weapons profile, ITAR-TASS reports.

The deputy minister noted that Damascus had fulfilled all its obligations in destroying chemical weapons. In his words, some Western states in the UNSC were still accusing Damascus of hiding chemical weapons. Gatilov noted that such accusations had been heard the previous day.
