Iran has sent three Russian Su-25 assault jets to Iraq to fight Sunni militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). The jets belonged to Iraq and were sent to Iran during the 1991 Gulf War, RIA Novosti reports.Washington says that one of the jets is controlled by an Iranian pilot. The assault jets have already been used in Er-Ramadi and El-Fallujah, north of Baiji. Spokesman of the Pentagon John Kirby said that Iran was supplying Iraq with military instructors, jets, weapons and ammunition. He added that Washington was not planning to coordinate military operations with Tehran.
