OIC ex-Head Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that he had been receiving threats ever since he had become the candidate for president of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Democratic Left Party (DSP), Independent Turkey Party (BTP) and the Democratic Party (DP), Trend reports.
He emphasized that the people threatening him will not succeed.
Turkey will hold presidential polls on August 10. The second round of voting (if no candidate gets 51% of votes) will be held on August 21. Ihsanoglu is an opponent of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the ruling Justice and Development Party.
