Russia to amend citizenship law

The new citizenship law will fully come into power by August 1st, the head of the Federal Service of Migration, Konstantin Romodanovsky, told members of the Russian cabinet today.

According to the new regulations, Russian citizenship will be easier to acquire for those who speak Russian as a native language, who have relatives living in Russia, who permanently live in Russia or who are ready to cancel their former citizenship.
